Recycling and art as new “Ways of returning” in Cuba
Havana, February 4 (Prensa Latina) A new exhibition of engravings entitled "Maneiras de Voltar" is being held this month at the Villa Manuela gallery, in Havana, belonging to the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac).
The collective exhibition includes works by Janette Brossard, Anyelmaidelín Calzadilla, Ángel Ramírez, Yerandee Durán, Norberto Marrero, Alejandro Sainz and Desbel Álvarez, who approach recycling from different perspectives, giving each piece a new semantic load.
In “Ways of Returning”, the creators use not only paper and ink, but also everyday objects, photographs, textiles and other materials that are generally considered valuable,
The exhibition, which originates from a proposal of the project Making Pressure, explores new ways of telling and expressing ideas through one of the oldest forms of artistic expression: with gravity, according to the Uneac profile on Facebook.
