MADRID, December 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

ARCOmadrid 2024, organized by Ifema, will celebrate its 43rd edition from March 6 to 10 with a total of 207 galleries - seven less than in 2023 - from 36 countries - one less than in 2023 - which confirms, for the entity, that it is a reference for the visibility and exploration of artists, which serves to promote an active market and enhance knowledge around art.

On this occasion, which is celebrated with the Caribbean as the protagonist, 172 galleries make up the General Program, adding to them the curated sections of 'The shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean', with 19 galleries; 'Opening', with 16, and 'Never the same. This year, the participation of Spanish galleries represents more than 35 percent of the fair, with a total of 73 galleries, two more than those that attended the last edition. For its part, the international segment is more than 64 percent -134 galleries-. Specifically, 30 percent of the international segment is accounted for by the Latin American presence, with the participation of 40 galleries from 13 countries, with a special presence from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.

Among the international galleries participating in the General Program, ARCO celebrates the incorporation of galleries such as Gregor Podnar, Max Hetzler, Vera Munro, Air de Paris, Fortes D'aloia & Gabriel, Lévy Gorvy Dayan and León Tovar, which join the fidelity of others such as Thaddaeus Ropac, Mai 36, Jocelyn Wolff, Chantal Crousel, Peter Kilchman, Krinzinger, Nächst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwälder, Giorgio Persano, Lelong, Meyer Riegger, Perrotin, Poggi, Neugerriemschneider, Carlier I Gebauer, Thomas Schulte and Dvir Gallery.

Among the new features of the edition, ARCOmadrid incorporates as a 2024 research topic, 'The shore, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean' which, curated by Carla Acevedo-Yates and Sara
Hermann proposes a possible reading of the complex and fruitful intersection between land and sea that arises from and towards the shore. 19 galleries will participate, such as Hutchinson Modern & Contemporary, Monique Meloche, Patron, Praise Shadows Art Gallery, Tern Gallery, Espacio Mínimo or Helga de Alvear.

Likewise, 'Opening' will once again be the space for discovering new proposals at ARCOmadrid. The selection by Yina Jiménez Suriel and Cristina Anglada will represent the commitment of young international gallerism with the participation of 16 galleries such as Artbeat, Blue Velvet, Eins Gallery, Espacio Continuo, Fermay, Hatch, Pradiauto, Remota, Sissi Club and The Space Art Gallery.

Finally, the section 'Never the same. Latin American Art' will contribute to strengthening research into Latin American creation and its relationship with all the agents present at the fair.
