Oscar Niemeyer Museum offers free workshops and guided tours in August
The Oscar Niemeyer Museum (MON) will hold free workshops and guided tours throughout the month of August. No prior knowledge of art is required to participate. The afternoon activities will always have a sign language interpreter and the activities take place on Wednesdays, when admission to the museum is free.
The workshop “Laboratory of Experiences: Reliefs on Paper” will take place on the 7th, in two sessions: at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. In this activity, the public will be able to learn about the different textures and shapes of creation on paper. The inspiration was the work “Coleóptera”, by artist Willian Santos, which is part of the exhibition “Before and Now, Far and Here Inside”, on display in Room 11. The workshop is recommended for people over 3 years old. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
The first guided tour will be on the 14th, at 3 pm, at the exhibition “The Garden – Efrain Almeida”. The meeting is an opportunity for dialogue between the public and the MON team of educators with the aim of expanding perceptions and experiences with the exhibitions. Access is free for all audiences.
The “Zine Creation” activity will take place on the 21st, with two sessions: at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. Participants will be able to create zines using collages, drawings and writing to express their voice and identity. The action is inspired by the works of artist Rosana Paulino, which are in the exhibition “Before and now, far and here inside”. The workshop is recommended for people over 7 years old. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult to participate.
On the 28th, MON will offer the public a guided tour of the exhibition “German Lorca, Master of Photography”, at 3 pm. The event, organized by the MON team, will be an opportunity to delve into German Lorca's photographs – from his 70 years of work – and his affectionate perspective when recording the world.
