1. What has been the inspiration for this exhibition?

My greatest inspiration is being Colombian and my deep roots in her land despite more than 30 years of living in Colombia from a distance. Nature and the Amazon jungle connect me to my own meditation where I reflect on the environment, its harmony, balance and protection. My AMA-ZONE exhibition is open to the public in Boca Raton, FL at The Studio at Mizner Park until October 31st.

2. How have you managed to position yourself abroad?

I believe that the key for any professional in the creative world is perseverance and authenticity in their artistic process. My positioning has been thanks to being Ana Tamayo, the plastic artist, proudly Colombian who always transmits through her contagious energy, in her speech and in her work, respect, admiration and pride for our Colombian flora and fauna.

My works are in private collections in the United States, in foreign countries and in public spaces. I have exhibited internationally in South Florida, with the Gaudí gallery in Madrid and Pop up Art Gallery in Madrid. I have also participated in art fairs in France and Italy.
3. How do you think art changes the world?

Art is a language with which we connect on an intellectual and emotional level. I believe that the best artists have the ability to communicate the essence of the message that wants to be transmitted and to leave out the least substantial part of the work. We connect to beauty or not, to social and political messages, or to the simple expression of a stroke that produces some type of internal sensation in us.
