Director of the Venice Art Biennale visits the exhibition “How to design a revolution” with Hugo Palmarola
Adriano Pedrosa, director of the upcoming Venice Art Biennale 2024, visited with Hugo Palmarola the exhibition “How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Way to Design”, curated by Hugo Palmarola, Diseño UC, Eden Medina, STS MIT, and Pedro Ignacio Alonso , UC Architecture, at the La Moneda Cultural Center. The visit was attended by Regina Rodríguez, director of the CCLM.
The Brazilian curator, Adriano Pedrosa, is the first Latin American to direct the renowned Venice Art Biennale and is also director of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) located in the emblematic building of the architect Lina Bo Bardi.
In its 60th version and with the title “Foreigners Everywhere”, the Venice Art Biennale will open in April 2024 and will focus on foreigners, immigrants, expatriates, exiles and refugees, especially on their movements between the Global South and the Global North.
“How to design a revolution: The Chilean way to design”, is the comprehensive exhibition on graphic and industrial design during the government of President Salvador Allende that is being presented at the La Moneda Cultural Center, within the framework of the commemoration of the 50 years of the civil-military coup d'état in Chile, until January 28, 2024.
The exhibition is organized by the La Moneda Cultural Center and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage. With the collaboration of: Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI); MIT Program in Science, Technology, and Society (STS); Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation; and with the support of Goethe-Institut Chile.
