Artistic guerrilla for Palestine in the streets of Galicia: that no doll is left without its 'kufiya'
Activists distribute videos and photos in which they dress characters in advertisements, traffic signs or toilet signs with the traditional Palestinian headscarf.
Support for the cause of Palestine, under the Israeli offensive that has caused the death of more than 34,000 people in a few months, takes the most diverse forms. If in the United States or France university students have taken to the streets as they did against Vietnam or in May 1968, in Galicia the denunciation and solidarity takes more artistic forms and adds to the cause those men, women and children who they challenge from walls or traffic signs.
It was the Twitter user Sarah Wilkinson, a former graphic designer and today a fighter for freedom and justice in Palestine - this is how she is defined on the social network Séchu Sende.
In her videos, while the anthem Leve Palestine (Long Live Palestine) plays in the background, you can see how several people place the kufiyas on the pedestrian crossing, residential area or prohibited signs. Nor are announcements spared, such as those from ONCE, writers like Manuel María or the usual puppets that indicate the service or the exit of a premises.
The process of making the scarves can even be seen on Séchu Sende's TikTok account.
Sarah Wilkinson's publication, in which she calls on everyone to go out and do the same, has exceeded 23,000 reposts. Among those who have shared it most successfully is the journalist and 50% of Gomaespuma, Guillermo Fesser.
