Mural and Graffiti Competition in the State of Mexico: Boosting Urban Creativity

The “Mural and Graffiti. The art of the streets” competition in the State of Mexico invites urban artists to participate with prizes of up to 50 thousand pesos.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Government of the State of Mexico has launched a call for visual artists and artistic collectives from the State of Mexico specialized in graffiti and muralism. This competition, called “Mural and Graffiti. The art of the streets”, seeks to promote creativity and provide a space for the exhibition of urban works. With prizes of up to 50 thousand pesos, the initiative closes on September 22, 2024.

The call is open to people over 18 years of age, either individually or in groups, who reside in the State of Mexico and are professionally dedicated to the visual arts. Participants must use urban codes as a language of expression and can address topics such as the culture of peace, gender equality, freedom of expression, and art and cultural identity of the State of Mexico.
Prizes and Key Dates
The prizes for the best proposals are:
First place: 50 thousand pesos.
Second place: 30 thousand pesos.
Third place: 20 thousand pesos.
The winners will display their works between October 18 and 20 at the Bicentennial Mexiquense Cultural Center in Texcoco. They will be provided with an artistic kit and the necessary materials for the intervention.
