The catalog for the exhibition in honor of Poty Lazzarotto's 100th birthday is now available at the MON Store

The catalog for the exhibition “Trilhos e Traços – Poty 100 Anos”, on display at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum (MON), is now available at the MON Store. The exhibition brings together around 500 works, a selection of the 4,000 pieces donated by the artist's family to the Museum in 2022.

The curators, Maria José Justino and Fabricio Nunes, organized the exhibition into nine thematic groups: the Narrator, Work, Xingu, the Sacred, War, Everyday Life, the Traveler, the Muralist and the Portraitist. They highlight aspects of the artistic career of Poty Lazzarotto (Curitiba/PR, 1924-1998). During his childhood in Curitiba, in the old Capanema neighborhood, the artist began to record his daily life through drawings, which became his main means of expression.

One of the greatest artists from Paraná and Brazil, Poty is also well-known for his immense murals and the many literary illustrations he created throughout his career. The versatile artist explored several techniques, including engraving, illustration, carving, silkscreen printing and sculpture in different materials.

In celebration of the artist's centenary, the exhibition presents a new perspective on his production, revealing the evolution of his features. The collection is now available in the new MON Loja catalog, which includes complementary texts by the curators and historian Ricardo Freire.
