Weekend 2025 Prepares for Two Days of Art

ARTBO | Weekend 2025 Prepares for Two Days of Art
ARTBO, the arts program of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, presents the ninth edition of ARTBO | Weekend, a free event that brings art and culture to the capital's public. This event, which will take place from April 25 to 27, promises to transform the city into an epicenter of dialogue, creativity, and artistic reflection.

During these three days, 86 cultural spaces distributed throughout six major Bogotá art circuits—Centro Histórico, Macarena, Teusaquillo, Chapinero Central, San Felipe, and Chapinero Norte—will open their doors with extended hours.

This edition launches the Book Route, an initiative derived from the Editorial Meeting, held annually at the official headquarters of ARTBO | Weekend. The aim is to increase the visibility of publishing houses that explore the languages of art in a unique way and that are available in bookstores in Bogotá.

This route features a special itinerary that begins at the Historic Center Circuit and ends at Corferias, connecting Matorral Librería, Garabato Libros, Villegas Editores, NADA, Casa Santo & Seña, and Wilborada 1047 with the galleries, museums, institutions, self-managed spaces, and bookstores in Corferias.
In addition, ARTBO reaffirms its commitment to design as an artistic and functional expression through the Design Route, which in its second edition includes eight prominent spaces such as Verdi, Moblar, Alta Estudio, and Folies, strengthening the intersection of design, history, and contemporary art.
Components and general programming:

This year, ARTBO | Weekend returns to the Palacio de San Francisco, a neoclassical national monument, which will serve as the official venue for the event and the epicenter of notable activities, including a series of talks, an editorial gathering, and a curated exhibition from the participating galleries.

Twenty international and national curators will participate in the discussions, under the curatorial direction of the renowned Raphael Fonseca, curator of contemporary Latin American art at the Denver Art Museum. This space will generate a valuable exchange on curating, collecting, and new perspectives in contemporary art.

Topics such as indigenous art, new digital media, performance, and the relationship between Latin American and Latino art will be the main themes of the discussions that will take place on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th.

The editorial gathering, curated by Relámpago, will bring together independent projects and publishers that explore the language of the visual arts and will hold launches, open workshops, and talks on literature, art, and the publishing industry.

Finally, Intervención, a group exhibition of artists represented by participating galleries, will be specially curated by María Isabel Rueda, a Cartagena-based artist and curator, who will select outstanding pieces that will introduce the public to collecting.

Admission is free and will be open on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday the 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

With 157 activities and an inclusive program, including the Conversations series with Colombian sign language interpretation, ARTBO | Weekend promises to be an unmissable event for all those interested in exploring contemporary art from multiple perspectives.
