Mexico City | Desinformémonos. Pro-Palestinian groups painted murals demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza on the fences surrounding the Hemiciclo a Juárez in Mexico City, "so that all people on foot and in cars could see through art what the governments, the paid media, the brands, etc., want to omit."
"Demonstrating during these Christmas holidays is extremely important, since people usually put up nativity scenes in Bethlehem with dolls and animals and, whether they know it or not, Bethlehem is part of Palestine and currently the children of Palestine live under ruins dreaming that their relatives and friends, who are under the rubble of the bombs, have life; dreaming of a plate of food and water, enduring the pain of strong war wounds," the groups explained in a statement.
In the Hemicycle, which is located in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Museum of Memory and Tolerance, accused of omission in the face of Israeli attacks against Palestine and of "opposing the truth, covering up murderers and promoting financing for Israel," the groups painted murals as a protest so that "information reaches all people" and that memory continues during the December holidays.
They recalled that "the historical Jesus was a Palestinian child and today his life would be in much more danger than back then," and questioned: "How can we look with love at the Palestine of the past, letting the Palestine of the present die in terror and impunity before the Zionism of the world?"
On the murals on the fences of the Hemicycle, slogans for the freedom of Palestine and representations of the traditional nativity scene with Palestinian clothing and colors can be seen, in the midst of the destruction caused by the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
Below is the full statement:
We painted, in front of the so-called "anti-genocide museum", "The Museum of Memory and Tolerance", where in all its halls the greatest crimes against humanity committed on planet Earth are displayed in a moving way; However, this Zionist museum completely omits all the decades of contempt, torture and genocide of the most hurt people in the world, namely: the Palestinian people. Turning this museum into another weapon to oppose the truth, cover up murderers and encourage financing for Israel.

We painted in front of the Foreign Relations building, where so many times they turn a deaf ear, when in every march and rally and/or demonstration we carry out we shout at the top of our lungs that: Mexico has to break all kinds of relations with Israel for genocide, because they are illegally occupying Palestinian land in the cruelest way, because they direct all their military force towards the civilian population.
In front of these two buildings, the Memory and Tolerance and the Foreign Relations, is the Alameda Central of Mexico City; there in front of a large monument blocked by the police (to prevent people from different and valuable struggles in the city from painting on it). On the sheet metal wall, which they occupied to prevent the graffiti, we made, among various solidarity groups against the massacre in Palestine, beautiful murals so that all people on foot and in cars could see through art what the governments, the paid media, the brands, etc., want to omit: we want the information to reach all people in the entire world, because we believe that the power of global solidarity can do great things for the peace and freedom of the Palestinian people; we also did it because we wanted to show and discredit the tyranny of Israel and its impunity in the buildings already mentioned.
Demonstrating during these Christmas dates is extremely important, because people usually put up nativity scenes in Bethlehem with dolls and animals and, whether they know it or not, Bethlehem is part of Palestine and currently the children of Palestine live under ruins dreaming that their relatives and friends, who are under the rubble of the bombs, have life; dreaming of a plate of food and water, enduring the pain of strong war wounds. The historical Jesus was a Palestinian child and today his life would be in much more danger than back then. How can we look with love at the Palestine of the past, leaving the Palestine of the present to die in terror and impunity before the Zionism of the world.
We want people to listen to us, so that before they stuff themselves with Christmas gifts, they think of Palestine and do not consume the brands of the genocidaires. HP, Coca-Cola, Google, among the most requested.
