Galeria Solange Viana presents the exhibition Entrenós

The Solange Viana Art and Photography Gallery is honored to present ENTRENÓS, a collective exhibition that emerged from the meeting of women who live and work with art in Granja Viana. They are: Catharina Suleiman, Milenna Saraiva and Patricia Furlong. The curatorship is in charge of the gallerist, Solange Viana.

Intimate and unpublished works will be presented. Each artist will show a little of what they are currently producing, influenced by their surroundings: our Atlantic Forest. Not by chance, the exhibition opens celebrating Spring, further praising our region.

ENTRENÓS displays a section of each artist in a white space amidst a green landscape and lots of natural light. The press conference arose due to the cover story published by Circuito magazine, in May this year.

Catharina Suleiman, through her daily observation, will present a series of photographs, sculptures, plots and poems forged in natural material from our forest. “I observe these two public bodies, this forest and everything that makes me a woman. I observe and dance, I observe and cry, I observe and I give it back to you…”, says Suleiman.

Milenna Saraiva, on the other hand, presents a new production based on a powerful chromatic signature, which overflows from the canvases onto the walls, produced especially for the occasion. In this series entitled “Nova”, the artist's vocabulary of forms and gestures come from research that has focused on gender issues for years, using nature as a guiding thread and inspiration.

For Patrícia Furlong with her diptychs, Grisaille and Terra, acrylic paintings that were inspired by photos taken in the garden where the artist's studio is located. “The garden is lush, green. But do the paintings refer to another time, a future time? Grisaille is icy, impervious, silent nature. Earth is ground movement, noisy, shifting”, says Furlong.

Granja Viana is a privileged place. Because it is close to São Paulo and has a lush Atlantic forest, many artists take refuge here. Everyone who arrives feels the impact caused by the local atmosphere, and this fully reflects on the results of their work, on their work. And it is a little of this that from the 30th of September until the 30th of October, the public will find at the Solange Viana Art and Photography Gallery.
