Art week begins: ARCOmadrid from March 5 to 9
ARCOmadrid begins its 44th edition through 214 galleries from 36 countries that invite artistic discovery, reflection and research
IFEMA MADRID (Pavilions 7 and 9) hosts another edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair, ARCO. The 44th edition will be held in the capital from March 7 to 9 through national and international galleries, displaying an emphasis that encourages dialogue through art. This new edition that brings together artists and collectors has the Amazon as its central axis.
An initiative that integrates 178 galleries from the General Program. In addition to this, the curated selections are included: Wametisé: ideas for an Amazonian futurism, with 15 galleries; Opening. New galleries, with 18, and Profiles / Latin American art, with 10 galleries. Works selected through the programme curated by Denilson Baniwa and María Wills, in cooperation with the Institute for Postnatural Studies.
ARCOmadrid 2025
ARCOmadrid will bring together art galleries in the capital of Spain, establishing a link with Latin America that positions our country within a greater value at a national and international level. More than two hundred galleries will impress the most romantic and reflective public, who will try to get to know the 143 international galleries up close, which exhibit the artistic wealth of Latin American countries, such as Brazil and Argentina. Likewise, Spain also maintains its space with 71 galleries, highlighting ATM, Elvira González, 1 Mira Madrid.
New additions to the international art experience, as well as well-known legendary galleries such as Chantal Crousel or Thaddaeus Ropac. A fusion that manages to expose first-hand the cultural diversity and the immeasurable wealth of contemporary art. An artistic program that divides its fusion into three curated sections, maintaining Opening, a space dedicated to young talent. National and international gallery owners who are looking for their place in the world of contemporary art. For its part, ArtsLibris makes an incredible return with a special event of eighty editors and its own corner. This with the aim of exposing the will of the International Fair for the admiration of art and the diffusion of artistic culture through books and publications. In addition, Perfiles ensures the strong connection between ARCOmadrid and the artistic culture of Latin American countries.
Art in every corner of Ifema
In its commitment to collecting, ARCOmadrid 2025, as it has been doing for the last 15 years, has as its objective the outstanding: First Collectors by Fundación Banco Santander. A free advisory service for the purchase of works during the Fair. In addition to this, the classic International Collectors Program and the Special Guests Program are established in the same way. Likewise, the ARCO tour is not limited only to viewing and selling works, there are also public stands such as the Collectors Forum. A meeting point where the international artistic community can learn about and share opinions on the galleries and collections on display to the public. In addition to this, we also find the Artists Forum, a space for debate created by MAV Women in the Visual Arts.
Madrid, the city of art
Madrid becomes the central art hub every year, and in addition to ARCO, there are other events that evoke the beauty of artistic culture. Art Madrid celebrates its 20th edition from March 5 to 9. It will be in the Galería de Cristal of the Palacio de Cibeles. We also find JUSTMAD, with more than 40 galleries and the focus on Latin America from March 6 to 9. Held at the Palacio de Neptuno, the 16th edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair JUSTMAD will be held.
SAM 2025, the Modern Art Salon in Madrid, also from March 4 to 9, the Carlos Foundation is showing the eighth edition of the Modern Art Salon. This year, 18 national galleries will exhibit more than 400 works by contemporary and emerging artists, along with pieces by masters such as Picasso, Dalí and Miró. In addition, with the aim of paying homage to the capital, FLECHA 2025 will have the Movida Madrileña as its theme. An exhibition that will be offered to the public until March 16.
