Rio City Hall announces largest urban art corridor in Latin America
Graffiti will fill panels along 26 km of the Transbrasil extension
Viaducts, terminals and walkways that connect the Deodoro terminal to the Gentileza Terminal will receive the Cores da Brasil project, with graffiti along the 26km of TransBrasil.
At an event held near the Gentileza Integrated Terminal, Mayor Eduardo Paes shared more details about the artistic panel.
“It’s around 6 and a half million, 7 million reais. It's super important, you have this urban art, graffiti, which Gentileza himself inspires here, giving this new Terminal its name. It's a way for us to value these artists who are spread across the city and at the same time to bring color, hope, light to the city's main avenue, which is finally having its works completed and the structure will improve a lot”, he said.
The mayor did not provide an exact date for the completion of works on the Transbrasil BRT corridor, but the expectation is to complete them by the end of this year.
