Brazilian women showcase Latin American art in London
Seven Brazilian photographers were selected for the Habitat international collective exhibition
The Habitat international exhibition brings together works by 49 artists from Latin America and has as its theme “presenting powerful and necessary narratives that reflect the poetics of Latin American artists on the environment, territory and body”. Seven photographers and visual artists from Brazil were selected, among them Ana Sabiá, Angelica Luersen, Duda Fortes, Gisele Martins, Heloisa Medeiros, Maria Chrisá and Monica Grappi. The photography exhibition was open to visitors from October 15 to 20 at The Art Pavilion Gallery in London, England.
The exhibition was organized by the Colombian collective Fotógrafas Latam, in partnership with the organization Art From Heart, led by women. In addition to the exhibition, lectures and discussion groups were part of the event.
“We know that working together is a path to success in projecting our work, which is why we continue every day to seek out spaces that allow us to grow as artists, generating discussions, reflection, training and confidence. We are convinced that together we are stronger and that, with this support network, we will grow collectively,” says Lorena Velasco, co-founder of the “Fotografas Latam” collective.
