Expointer, the largest fair in the agricultural sector in Latin America, already has a date set: it will take place between the 26th of August and the 3rd of September, in Esteio. Who will be present at the event, representing Santo Antônio da Patrulha, is João Pedro Krech. Along with six other artists, he will exhibit his works in yet another edition of the Estância da Arte project, a visual arts cultural space located in the International Pavilion of Parque Assis Brasil.
This year, the initiative reaches its third edition and will feature some innovations: this is the first time that the exhibition will be collective, bringing together seven artists. In addition, the exhibition will have a record number of works. There will be more than 40 in total, including paintings, drawings and sculptures.
João Pedro is a self-taught artist, who stood out from a young age for his skill in drawing. With his own style and predominant use of oil paint, he portrays the gaucho culture with an emphasis on the creole horse, enchanting the public with his realistic and detailed works. In addition to his artistic work, he manages a studio in Santo Antônio da Patrulha, where he teaches drawing and painting classes, sharing his passion for art and contributing to the appreciation of Rio Grande culture.
ABOUT THE STANCE OF ART
Estância da Arte aims to promote and value nativism through artistic expressions. More than a cultural space, the project aims to promote the democratization of access to art and an immersive experience, to bring the public closer to the country's imagination and carry out exchanges with artists.
Curated by Marciano Schmitz, the show, entitled Alma Campeira, will bring together works that portray the daily life of the gaucho in the Pampa, a theme that inspires and illustrates João Pedro's paintings. The young artist from Patrol joined Ateliê Arteluz in 2010 and, in 2016, studied “Realist Drawing” with Charles Laveso. He participated in collective and individual exhibitions, in places such as the Caldas Júnior Museum (2018) and the Lá Victoria store at Expointer (2019). In 2021, he held a solo exhibition at the Santo Antônio da Patrulha City Hall.
In addition to João Pedro, the group of artists who will participate in this year's show includes Eliana Bonini, Jaime Eduardo Iserhard, Rossini Rodrigues and Vasco Machado. The Argentine based in Porto Alegre, José Acuña, and the São Paulo, Alexandre Reider complete the list.
The Estância da Arte project, PRONAC 221642, is master sponsored by Banco De Lage Landen and CPA Máquinas, sponsored by Marcher Brasil and Guaibacar and supported by Swan Cultura. The realization is by the cultural producer Simples Assim and the Ministry of Culture of the Federal Government - União e Reconstruction, through the Culture Incentive Law.
