Visual Arts academics present work during International Meeting of Art and Technology

Students from the Unifesspa Visual Arts course were, in Brasília, at the X International Symposium on Innovation in Interactive Media (SIIMI) presenting their research and academic work, in addition to exhibiting their works at the 22nd International Meeting of Art and Technology (#22.ART )

The event of national importance promotes the meeting of several researchers and artists from Latin America and Europe, an opportunity to exchange many experiences, in addition to the exchange of knowledge. The event was also attended by important representatives in the areas of research financing and scientific innovation in the field of Art and Technology, such as Itaú Cultural and Fapespa.

Under the coordination of Prof. Teófilo Augusto, students Jardel Marinho, Rafaela Cardoso, Itair Rodrigues and Luca Eduardo presented scientific research with important reflections on the current use of generative Artificial Intelligence technologies in addition to research on the production of interactive works of art and Amazonian visual poetics.

At the #22.Art exhibition, together with artists from all over Brazil, students presented some of their works. The exhibition - which will also have an online version - remains open at the National Museum until October 21, 2023. To participate in the event, students also received financial assistance and encouragement from the Support for Participation in Academic Events program at Pró- Dean of Extension and Student Affairs (Proex/Unifesspa).

About - The 22nd International Meeting of Art and Technology (#22.ART) and the X International Symposium on Innovation in Interactive Media (X SIIMI), linked to the XXII International Image Festival, in Colombia, took place from September 21st to 24th, with in-person and remote presentations at the National Museum of the Republic, in Brasília, DF.

In this edition, in addition to the in-person exhibition, a Web exhibition was also developed, which will be on air for an indefinite period of time. ART has been organized since 1989 by the Department of Visual Arts, Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts of the Institute of Arts of the University of Brasília, in partnership with the Federal University of Goiás/MediaLab/UFG and the National Museum of the Republic, in Brasília , DF.

The central theme of this edition is the concept of "XENOlandscapes", the term of which is a neologism created to describe the transformation of natural landscapes due to climatic and technological phenomena. The purpose of the event is to discuss the relationship between art, science and technology to awaken emotions, sensitize and make people aware of the impacts of university knowledge, social and political aspects of today.
