Gary Nader announces the opening of a Sculpture Park in Miches

Gary Nader is proud to announce the soon opening of a Sculpture Park within “Maralda”, the largest tourism project being developed in Miches, in the province of El Seibo, on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic.

The collection includes works by prominent artists such as Ahmed Al Bahrani, Pablo Atchugarry, Fernando Botero, Stephen De Staebler, Daniel Escardo, John Henry, Richard Hudson, Robert Indiana, Enio Iommi, Jeff Koons, Julio Larraz, Enrique Martínez Celaya, Manuel Mendive, Sydia Reyes, Jesús Rafael Soto, Frank Stella, Rufino Tamayo, Lorenzo Quinn, Manolo Valdés, Rachel Valdés, Sophia Vari and Bernar Venet.

The Sculpture Park has been designed to showcase three-dimensional sculptures and art installations in an environment that allows visitors to uniquely interact and appreciate the artwork, making it an exceptional destination for art enthusiasts and academics.

It will offer various activities and experiences to engage visitors and enhance their enjoyment of art and the natural environment. These activities will include self-guided and guided tours, educational programs, workshops, outdoor performances, art festivals, artist talks and lectures, temporary exhibitions, interactive installations, picnics and relaxation, art events and festivals, nature walks and shopping gifts and cafes. Activities will provide a complete experience that combines art appreciation, outdoor enjoyment and cultural participation.

The natural surroundings of Miches will enhance the art viewing experience and complement the sculptures. Prominent sculpture parks around the world, such as the Storm King Art Center in New York, the Hakone Open-Air Museum in Japan, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the United Kingdom, and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas, have contributed to the accessibility and appreciation of art by making it available in a natural and accessible environment.

“At FITUR 2023 we present our vision for the sustainable tourism development of Miches and our approach to complement the tourism offer by creating a cultural destination within our Maralda project. This Sculpture Park that we will open together with Gary Nader will put both Miches and the country on the cultural map around the world and will open opportunities for local artists to exhibit alongside prominent international artists.” Expressed George Alexander Nader, CEO of Nader Enterprises, the developer of Maralda.
