Last day to register artists for the project of the largest urban art corridor in Latin America

Notice with prizes of up to R$ 12 thousand has registration until Thursday (23)
The City of Rio de Janeiro, VLT Carioca and Instituto CCR in partnership with the urban requalification agency Visionartz, are looking for artists to participate in the Cores da Brasil project (@coresdabrasil). It, which is already considered the largest urban art corridor in Latin America, 26 km long, is being developed for the launch of BRT Transbrasil.

The notice, recently released, informs that almost R$1 million will be allocated to the Public Call, an amount distributed across 131 prizes ranging between R$3,000 and R$12,000, depending on the dimensions of the selected proposals. Registration can be made until 7pm on November 23rd.

Artists who wish to submit their proposals to the notice must follow some eliminatory criteria, such as making visible the message of kindness left by Prophet Gentileza, valuing the city of Rio de Janeiro and its neighborhoods, in addition to being an unprecedented art, especially planned for the surfaces proposed by the notice, and to guarantee the safety of the artist and those involved in the operation. The Cores da Brasil project will pass through 26 neighborhoods along Avenida Brasil, and will bring paintings to 4 terminals, 18 stations and 18 walkways of the BRT Transbrasil, 30 viaducts and 300 support pillars. For this, more than 30 thousand liters of paint and more than 10 thousand spray cans will be used.

Visionartz is a pioneering urban requalification agency, which has been present in the Port region of the city of Rio de Janeiro since 2010. It was responsible for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions of the Rua Walls project, the revitalization of the Parque Library facade, among other initiatives that marked a change in the conception of regions in the city.
