The 24th Fenearte begins: the largest craft fair in Latin America


Starting this Wednesday (3), the Pernambuco Convention Center, in Olinda, becomes the epicenter of national crafts with the opening of the 24th National Crafts Business Fair (Fenearte). The event, which continues until July 14th, brings together around 5 thousand artisans and presents for the first time the possibility of purchasing tickets in advance online.
With the theme “Sounds of Creating – Crafts that Touch People”, Fenearte 2024 offers not only a vast exhibition of handcrafted pieces, but also competitions, fashion shows and musical performances, among other activities. The government of Pernambuco invested R$15 million in holding the event, which promises to generate an economic impact of approximately R$52 million for the state.

The fair will be open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 2pm to 10pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 10pm. Tickets cost R$6 (half) and R$12 (full) from Monday to Thursday, and R$8 (half) and R$16 (full) from Friday to Sunday. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

Alameda dos Mestres: Alameda dos Mestres, which brings together more than 60 masters of popular art, will feature the inclusion of two new names, Nicinha, from Caruaru, and Saúba, from Jaboatão dos Guararapes.

Moda Fenearte: The old “Passarela Fenearte” remains on the Mezzanine of the Convention Center, now called Moda Fenearte. In addition to the fashion shows, the space will host the Pernambuco Authorial Fashion Challenge (MAPE), a competition aimed at fashion students from state universities.

Fenearte Kitchen: The gastronomy classes will be themed around coalho cheese, with chefs from Pernambuco preparing dishes with the ingredient in front of the public. This initiative aims to promote coalho cheese as intangible cultural heritage.

Exhibition about Mestre Nado: There will be an exhibition dedicated to the work of Mestre Nado, a renowned artisan from Olinda who creates clay musical instruments. The exhibition will take place in the Mezzanine of the Convention Center, together with the workshops.
Children's Space and Food Court: The children's space will have new access at the end of Alameda dos Mestres, while the food court will have kiosks and repositioned tables, in addition to the Fenearte Stage, which will host daily shows.

Circuito Fenearte: For the second time, Circuito Fenearte expands its activities beyond the Convention Center, including cultural spaces and restaurants in Recife, Olinda, Tracunhaém and Caruaru.

School of Creative Economy: During the fair, the School of Creative Economy will be launched, offering curatorial consultancy for municipal managers and participating associations.

Pernambuco Artesão Program: In partnership with Sebrae, the state government will launch the Pernambuco Artesão program, which will include seminars, workshops and incentives for the artisanal sector.
