Montevideo, September 20, 2024. – Distrito El Globo, the new business and lifestyle center of the Old City of Montevideo, is pleased to announce the arrival of Diderot.Art, the leading platform for the sale of contemporary art in Latin America. Together, they inaugurate a space for the dissemination and commercialization of art in Uruguay, which presented its official opening at Casa Solis, reaffirming the commitment of Distrito El Globo to the promotion of art, culture and entrepreneurship.

Diderot.Art presents itself as a bridge between Uruguayan artists and the global public. The inaugural exhibition featured a collective display of local artists selected by the Diderot.Art curatorial team, including Juan Burgos, Diego Masi, Camila Lacroze and Martín Tisnés.

«For Distrito El Globo it is a real pleasure to announce this alliance with Diderot.Art, reinforcing once again our commitment to position ourselves as an epicenter of investment and lifestyle, integrating art as one of its fundamental pillars,» says Nadina Rubinstein, Business Development and Marketing Manager of Distrito El Globo.

Diderot.Art was born in Argentina in 2017 with the mission of democratizing access to contemporary art. Its online platform facilitates the purchase and knowledge of works by more than 100 Latin American artists, allowing both experienced collectors and new buyers to acquire art in a simple and safe way. Through short exhibitions, talks and visits to workshops, Diderot.Art fosters a direct approach between artists and the public, eliminating traditional barriers and promoting art as an accessible good.

«This alliance with Distrito El Globo allows us to expand our reach and give a new platform of visibility to talented Uruguayan artists, not only in their country, but also throughout the region,» explains Fiona White, representative of Diderot.Art in Uruguay.

And she concludes: «Diderot.Art responds to the phenomenon of the digital age that was exacerbated by the pandemic. The reach of the website is infinite and it is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Clients can browse the website for as long as they want, at any time they want, from wherever they are, and get to know the work of many talented artists in depth.»
