The ARCOmadrid art fair will be held in March and will feature 179 galleries
Madrid, Dec 17 (EFE).- The ARCOmadrid International Contemporary Art Fair will hold its 44th edition from March 5 to 9, 2025 with the participation of 179 galleries, Spanish or international based in Spain.
In addition to these, included in the “General Program”, there are those that will participate in the curated sections: ‘Wametisé: ideas for an amazofuturism’, ‘Opening. New galleries, and Profiles | Latin American art’.
The fair thus opens a dialogue between innovative proposals from the international scene and a meeting point that “transcends the market to also promote artistic discovery, reflection and research,” the organization explained in a statement.
Among the Spanish galleries participating in this edition, it is worth highlighting Alarcón Criado, Elba Benítez, Elvira González, Luis Adelantado Valencia, Prats Nogueras Blanchard and Sabrina Amrani.
Among the international participants, ARCO has highlighted the incorporation of Massimo Minini and Francesca Minini, Gomide&Co, Plan B and Sylvia Kouvali, and the renewed participation of Capitain Petzel, Max Hetzler and Mendes Wood Dm.
ARCOmadrid will also have three curated sections, around the central axis of the Amazon.
Thus, ‘Wametisé: ideas for an Amazonian futurism’, curated by Denilson Baniwa and María Wills, will reflect on new modes of creation that represent hybrid existences between human, vegetal, physical and metaphysical bodies.
‘Opening. ‘New Galleries’ will once again be a space for discovering innovative proposals with the participation of galleries such as Artbeat, Blue Velvet and Fermay, and other new ones such as Callirrhoë or El Chico.
Finally, the ‘Profiles | Latin American Art’ section will continue to strengthen the historical link with art in Latin America, which on this occasion will present a single artist for each of the 10 participating galleries.
