With more than 800 entries, the Anapolina Production Promotion and National Exhibition categories will bring together 26 participants for the exhibition that starts on November 11th
The Salão Anapolino de Arte 2023 finalizes another stage of the schedule and announces the selected artists who will participate in the exhibition, which begins on November 11th at Galeria Antônio Sibasolly. The selection committee, formed by Paulo Henrique Silva, curator of the event, and guests Mariano Klautau Filho, from Pará, and Fernanda Lopes, from Rio de Janeiro, was responsible for evaluating the entries, which exceeded the number of 800 portfolios.
In total, 26 artists from Anápolis and different parts of Brazil will exhibit their work during the Exhibition, in two categories: National Exhibition and Promotion of Anapolina Production. The first covers artists from Goiás or foreigners with permanent residence in the country, while the second is dedicated to artists born in Anápolis or residing in the city for more than three years.
In this edition, the event that has become one of the landmarks of the Brazilian visual arts scene in recent years, has financial support from the Anápolis Municipal Culture Fund (FMC). “The Anapolino Salon, like the FAMU [Anapolino Music Festival] and the Film Festival, is an event on the city's cultural calendar and is part of a set of 40 projects contemplated by the Municipal Culture Fund, which carried out in its last edition a historic transfer of approximately R$ 2 million, being the largest investment ever made through the law to encourage Anapoli culture”, comments the Secretary of Integration, Eerizania Freitas.
Held by Anápolis City Hall, through the Municipal Integration Secretariat, for more than four decades, the Salon aims to promote the plurality of national artistic production and offer a space for visibility for emerging artists.
The artists chosen in both categories will be individually awarded a participation prize worth R$1,300. At the National Exhibition, three prizes are offered, two of which are cash, worth R$10,000 each, and a residence at Ateliê-Escola Sertão Negro, located in Goiânia (GO). In the Local Exhibition category, there are two prizes: R$ 3,200 and a residence at Pé Vermelho Espaço Contemporâneo, located in Planaltina (DF). In total, the 27th edition of the Salão Anapolino de Arte will distribute R$87,700 in prizes.
Returning to the format that established it as one of the most well-regarded events on the Brazilian visual arts scene in recent years, the Salão Anapolino de Arte stands as a space to stimulate and strengthen art and support new artists. “Our objective is to encourage and publicize national artistic production”, says the organizer and curator of the Salon, Paulo Henrique Silva.
