Panels were created by 21 artists for the Belém Museum of Urban Art
One of the largest open-air museums in Latin America was inaugurated this week at the Ver-o-Rio Complex, on the banks of the Guajará Bay, in Belém, Pará. The area has 6,000 m² and 19 new panels, a project by the Belém Museum of Urban Art (M.A.U.B) to promote street art.
The project is now in its second edition and features well-known names from the Pará, Amazon and international scene. Created by 21 visual artists, the panels began to be created on October 18. The themes of the art include indigenous peoples' medicine, migratory flow, inland waters, women's cycles and regional legends.
The largest wall is approximately 2,000 m² and was created by Drika Chagas and Éder Oliveira. The artists were selected through a public notice, which received 135 entries.
