From October 21st to November 25th, Galeria Mario Cohen is holding the exhibition Uma Flor Não É Uma Flor, by Argentine photographer Edo Costantini. Taking place in galleries in New York, Miami, Mexico and Argentina, the exhibition marks the first time that the artist exhibits his work individually in South America. The exhibition is made up of an unprecedented series of 11 works, which portray the ephemerality of nature.
Curated by Clara Ríos, the exhibition brings together never-before-seen photographs about the impermanence and fragility of nature, captured on the outskirts of Katonah-Bedford Hills, New York, where the photographer has lived and worked for ten years.
“In light of the current urgent climate crisis, I seek to document nature itself; the imminence of death through the mutability of the seasons that highlights the drastic changes that are occurring around us. So, I try to capture a story, the opening of a flower, the shine of the sun on dry leaves; the transience of life, the inevitable end of each of its phases and the birth of a new life”, explains Edo.
