Winners of the biggest photography festival in Latin America

Winners of the biggest photography festival in Latin America will be revealed this Saturday
The biggest photography awards in Latin America, the Brasília Photo Show, is holding an awards ceremony this Saturday, at the Doma Rooftop restaurant – next to the Brasília Art Museum (MAB), on the edge of Concha Acústica. The event, translated into pounds and broadcast live on the festival's BPS Channel, takes place from 9:30 am.

The event will feature programming throughout Saturday (25) and also on Sunday (26). On Saturday, in addition to the awards, there will also be a chat with photographer Ricardo Polesso about The new era of Photography with Artificial Intelligence, a theme and category that has been popular throughout this year. The awards and activities are free but there will be limited places, therefore, interested parties must register.

Furthermore, all the winning photographs in the statuettes, medals and mentions categories will be presented in print in the Festival's official book, which has 400 award-winning images, celebrating the ninth edition of the book.

The news for the date is that MAB Educativo is part of the BPS program. “There will be two intense days of activities, where the community can explore and celebrate the art of photography in innovative and inspiring ways. The workshops include various activities and welcome everyone from children to adults”, says Rodrigo Nimer, executive director of BPS Group.

The BPS inaugurates one of the largest collective exhibitions in Brazil, the City of Photography – Brasília Photo Expo 2023. During the four-month period, the Brasilia public will be able to discover the 400 winning photos of 2023 in a physical exhibition, the exhibition of old equipment in the museum of photography and a random electronic exhibition of the festival's more than 850 semi-finalist photos and a retrospective of the winners of all previous editions.

The festival

With the evolution of photography devices and technology, it has never been easier to record moments and immortalize them through this art. For some, photography is a profession and the livelihood of a home. For others, from taking a selfie on social media to registering the birth of a child, it's just an amateur way of capturing a special moment. With this in mind, the Brasília Photo Show International Photography Festival – considered the largest in Latin America – equally includes amateur and professional audiences in the search for a festival prize.

This year's edition featured 20 award categories, valuing and promoting space for creative diversity and diverse photographic styles. Among the new features presented this year, the Artificial Intelligence category stood out, exclusive to creativity in the use of artificial intelligence; and Selfie Photo and Nature, which combines fauna and flora.
