Latin American Festival of Arts and Technologies “Ritual Codes”

Latin American Festival of Arts and Technologies “Ritual Codes”

With more than 160 collaborating artists from different countries throughout its career, the Centro Cultural Toda la Teoría del Universo (TTU) presents “Ritual Codes”, the seventh edition of the Latin American Festival of Arts and Technologies Toda la Teoría del Universo, which will take place from January 6 to 11, in different parts of the province of Concepción, Chile. This year, the meeting proposes a dialogue between the ancestral and the contemporary, through traditional practices with the logic of the digital world to open new paths in creative exploration.

At this crossroads of art and technology, the Festival is conceived as a ritual space that invites us to rethink the relationship between the human, natural and technological. Through workshops, performances, concerts, laboratories, exhibitions and talks, the public will be able to participate in experiences that intertwine body, machine, territory and memory. With an international curatorship, “Códigos Rituales” is presented as a celebration open to all communities interested in artistic creation and critical reflection on possible futures.

As part of the programming, and with the aim of promoting collaborative networks and independent practices, the Festival will feature the “Nodo Editorial Creativo” fair, which will take place on January 10 and 11 at the Enrique Molina Theater (Víctor Lamas 655, city of Concepción).

This space for cultural exchange will bring together editorial projects, sound developers, artists and managers to discuss creative processes and share materials that connect tradition, technology and contemporary thought. It also has great relevance in promoting spaces for research, creation and reflection in the community, contributing to the creative ecosystem of the Biobío Region.

The inauguration of the 7th version of “Códigos Rituales” will take place on Monday, January 6 at 6:00 p.m., at the Biobío Theater in Concepción. It will feature the performance talk “Oro Tapado” by the artist Bárbara Santos (CO) and the audiovisual concert “interconnection-data:stream” by the Hypereikon (CHI) collective, composed of María Constanza Lobos and Sebastián Rojas. Tickets are available through the ticket office of the Teatro Biobío.
Registration to participate in workshops

On December 28, registrations will open for the workshops that will be held during the festival, through a form available on TTU’s social networks. Among the options are: “Alteñización” by El Alto Aesthetics (BO); “Antifuturisms Countermodernos: rethinking ethical and aesthetic paths for the Now”, by Biarritz (BR); “Cuenco de cera: cartographies of the subsoil of the Biobío basin” by Bárbara Santos; “Signo subtil” by Denise Alves-Rodrigues (BR); “Observatorio cosmotellúrico (ciclo solar #25)” by Elisa Balmaceda (CL); “Hybrid Ecologies” by Guto Nobrega (BR); and “Oceanic Feeling / Laboratory of Submerged Listening” by Colectivo Werebere (CO).

These meetings offer the opportunity to explore new artistic narratives, instances of conversation and development of ideas, generating links between the local environment and the art scene.
Face-to-face meetings

The “Nodo Editorial Creativo” fair is presented as a space in the festival that brings together art, reflection and music in two afternoons full of activity. On Friday, the editorial projects are presented, along with the official opening. Conversations such as “The Last Call of the World – El Alto Aesthetics” or the session around the Caja Negra library invite to delve deeper into social, aesthetic and experimental themes, while concerts by Niark, “Molecular Oscillations”, and Javiera Electra complete the programming of the first day.

On Saturday, the fair continues with the work table open to projects and interested community, generating space for the exchange of ideas and collaboration. The launch of publications will take place, highlighting the photobook “Devenir Paisaje” by La Ratonera, along with other editorial proposals that nourish the independent panorama. The conversation on Sobras Selectas will be in charge of contributing with diverse perspectives of the public, while the jam of “makinitas” with special guests promises an encounter full of live musical experimentation.

This last day will culminate with presentations such as Montaña Extendida and Automat4. Each block of activities has been designed to encourage the participation of both exhibitors and the community, positioning the encounter not only as an exhibition space, but also as a cultural laboratory in which arts and technologies converge.
