The III International Congress "Revolts of Art" will be held

With national and foreign guests, in addition to shows and artistic interventions, the meeting aims to reflect on artistic life as a production of knowledge and research. The programming will be crossed by the thematic axis of human rights, on the 40th anniversary of the recovery of democracy in Argentina.

From October 10 to 12, the University of the Arts (UNA) organizes the III International Congress “Revueltas del Arte”, an event that covers artistic research, training, thought and dialogue with national and foreign guests, as well as shows and artistic interventions. This powerful network will be deployed, with free admission until the capacity of the rooms is exhausted, in seven Buenos Aires venues: SAGAI Foundation, Borges Cultural Center, Banco Provincia Museum, House of Culture of the National Fund for the Arts, Theater Picadero, CCK and Research and Postgraduate Secretariat of the UNA.

“It is about continuing to demonstrate that in a university, such as the UNA that trains artists, there is also research from and through the arts. There are methodologies, artistic practices and beyond the conference presentations that exceed three hundred, we want to share what has to do with a task that is cultural consumption, symbolic capital and, at the same time, an instance linked to cultural industries. and creative, to the productive development of the country with an impact on its GDP. The arts themselves are much more than an object or a product that one is going to see or consume. They are also a way of thinking for citizens,” María Valdez, UNA research and postgraduate secretary and head of the organization of the event, explains to Página/12. “We are interested in proposing and promoting how to build, through the arts, cultural, social, inclusive and quality development, which contributes to productive development,” she adds. Within this framework there will be conferences, roundtables, workshops, shows and interventions by artists and researchers committed to agenda topics such as rights, inclusion, gender issues, the environment and sustainable development.
