Visual arts in the urban environment

Visual arts in the urban environment will be the theme of an event
The works, processes and trajectories of visual arts in different Latin American cities during urban and political-social modernization will be the theme of a free event to be held in Medellín, Colombia.

Latin America Arte y Ciudadanías Críticas will feature debates and lectures from November 12 to 15 on how art and citizens interact in the urban setting. Registration is now open.

The Arte y Ciudadanías Críticas project featured the work of 11 researchers from Latin America. They developed research throughout 2024, which shows the knowledge and transformation of art in urban areas, with their complexities and also on the points that the countries have in common.

The researchers who participated in the project are Gerardo Mosquera (Cuba) / Ana Longoni (Argentina) / Adriana Dolci Palma (Brazil) / Mercedes Reátegui (Peru) / Thais Magalhães (Brazil) / Mónica Amieva (Mexico) / Mijail Mitrovic (Peru) / Michelle Farias Sommer (Brazil) / Esperanza de León (Guatemala) / Pablo Santamaría (Colombia) / Jorge Lopera (Colombia).
