Opening of the exhibition We are all artists

Opening of the exhibition “We are all artists: Inclusive Art” will be this Thursday (10/19), at the Mogi das Cruzes Cultural Center
This Thursday (19/10), at 2 pm, the official opening of the Exhibition “We Are All Artists: Inclusive Art” will take place at the Mogi das Cruzes Cultural Center, in the Center. The initiative aims to include everyone in cultural spaces with the presentation of the work of the collective of student artists from the Municipal School of Special Education (Emesp) Profª Jovita Franco Arouche. The action is a partnership between the municipal departments of Culture and Education.

The exhibition, which has been on display since the 11th, is part of the Mogi Cidade da Criança - Primeira Infância Program. The works with varied themes were created based on events and reflections on activities carried out in class, under the guidance of the Arts teacher, Ricardo Leite, with the school's collective of student artists between the years 2022 and 2023. They are still on display , productions by the educator, who is also a writer, musician and independent producer.

This exhibition aims to give visibility to these students through their artistic productions and make them and their guardians realize that all spaces in society belong to them. Emesp completed 36 years of existence this year and currently serves 519 enrolled students, including students who receive care at Hospital Dr. Arnaldo Pezzuti, in Jundiapeba.

Mogi City of Children Program - Early Childhood
Launched in December 2022, the Mogi Cidade da Criança – Primeira Infância Program is an intersectoral public policy project focused on the development of a child-friendly city, especially its first stage (from zero to 6 years old). Through the initiative, several actions are underway in the city, such as Play Spaces and the preparation of the Municipal Early Childhood Plan (PMPI), which focus on supportive, humanized and collective coexistence for little Mogians. The program is also part of the planning for Mogi 500 years, a medium and long-term city plan.

This year, Mogi joined the Children's Cities Network, a group with 30 years of history and made up of 200 cities, spread across 15 countries in Europe and Latin America. The Network focuses on development during childhood, which is the most fertile and decisive period of life. The proposal is to guarantee the freedom and autonomy of children in the member cities as a condition for their societies to be truly democratic. To achieve this, it focuses on creative, safe, visually pleasing and sustainable play spaces.

Furthermore, since July 2021, Mogi has been part of the Urban95 Network, run by the Bernard Van Leer Foundation. The initiative supports cities around the world with a focus on early childhood. The objective is for the municipality to be a protagonist and reference in the integral development of children through urban planning, mobility strategies and, above all, in the construction of an agenda for the Municipal Early Childhood Plan.
