Celebration of the Arts: Alesp hosts an exhibition that brings together artists from Latin America

Valuing cultures, the exhibition presents paintings, sculptures and jewelry from several Latin countries
The Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo opened, this Thursday (5), the exhibition "Celebration of the Arts from Latin America". Organized by the artist Cassiano Araújo, the exhibition proposes the union of Latin painters and sculptors and will be open to the public until the 13th.

With the purpose of promoting art, culture and intellectual, social and philosophical progress among nations, the exhibition brings together Latin American artists through the curatorship of the Argentine Alicia Cunto and the Brazilian Caio Vaz.

"The objective of the exhibition is to strengthen the artistic class, the culture of our country and also the arts of Latin America, which are so much in need. As a Latin American, I must discuss and bring up the problems we are experiencing today", explained Cassiano Araújo.

Araújo, who is also presenting his works, is a Brazilian artist and cultural producer known for portraying spirituality through painting. Working with oil paint on fabric or canvas, the painter mainly mixes Catholic figures with abstract elements.

Diversity

In addition to paintings, the exhibition brought together works by Beatriz de Carvalho. The artist combines design and art to create elements that are, at the same time, jewelry and sculptures.

Among the artists on display are the Argentines Silvana Blasbarg, Xavier Fontenla and Edmund Valladares.

Peace and unity

Consul General of Paraguay in the State of São Paulo, Luis Fernando Avalos, spoke about the importance of the exhibition for good relations between nations. "The exhibition is a demonstration of the artist's pacifist spirit, it is an idea that pleases the diplomatic corps very much. The objective of our work is to promote peace between countries [...] it will certainly motivate us to organize others", he assessed.
