Madrid once again hosts the most prestigious art fair on our national scene, ARCOmadrid 2024. From March 6 to 10, the Ifema space will once again be the scene of this great event, this time hosting its 43rd edition where 205 galleries from 36 countries will exhibit the international artistic scene in an encounter with Spanish art.
with curator Carla Acevedo-Yates and Sara Hermann Morera, with the Caribbean Sea as the central axis of the event, and under the title The coast, the tide, the current: an oceanic Caribbean, this project will delve into the fascinating convergence between land and sea , exploring the complexities that arise to and from the coast. In this sense, the various ways in which this space is conceptualized, narrated and perceived will be analyzed, focusing especially on its conceptual dimension and how meaning is attributed to it.

At ARCO 2024 we will once again witness galleries in the General Program selected by the Organizing Committee, along with the Opening section, which curated by Cristina Anglada and Yina Jiménez Suriel, will highlight the work of emerging galleries with less than seven years of experience. This is the case of Chiquita Room, one of those that repeats the presentation and will present the work of Alba Yruela and Julia Aurora Guzmán, with different artistic practices but both with special attention to artisanal processes that highlight sensitivity, intimacy and respect for the materials. and interests of each of them. Also, the section 'Never the same. Latin American Art', curated by José Esparza Chong Cuy and Manuela Moscoso, will continue the work that the fair has been doing for years to strengthen the historical link between ARCO Madrid and Latin American art.
In this edition, which will have more than 64% international presence, 171 galleries will be part of the General Program, and 19 will join it in The shore, the tide, the current. 15 will enter Apertura and 12 in Never the same. Latin American art, with the participation of 40 galleries from 13 countries, with special presence from Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. ArtsLibris will also participate with more than 80 publishers from 20 countries and different publication presentations in the Arts Libris Speaker's Corner space. And, among the international additions we find notable names such as Vera Munro, Max Hetzler, Air de Paris, Fortes D’aloia & Gabriel, Lévy Gorvy Dayan and Hollybush Gardens.

This year, those who attend will also have the opportunity to enjoy the gastronomic offering of the Food Court with Isimar furniture and a plant decoration project. Green area.
The objective of ARCOmadrid 2024 is once again to be a meeting point for collectors, patrons and members of renowned museums, as well as private companies that will participate in artistic acquisitions and recognitions. In fact, the ARCO Foundation will present the 'A' Collecting Awards to outstanding personalities in the artistic field.

In the collecting forum, prominent members of the international artistic community, such as Inma Prieto, Manuel Borja Villel, María Luisa Samaranch, among others, will meet to debate and share ideas about art collecting in sessions open to the public. In parallel, the Museum Forum, directed by Martí Manen, Agustín Pérez Rubio and others, will host discussions on relevant topics in the museum field. Also, The Coast, the Tide, the Current: An Oceanic Caribbean Forum will focus on sessions led by Sara Hermann Morera and Carla Acevedo-Yates, exploring the central theme of the edition.
Additionally, the ArtsLibris Speakers Corner forum will foster dialogue between art, experimentation and publishing, while MAV Women in the Visual Arts will host talks on the presence of women artists in the market. As if that were not enough, there will also be space for its usual Professional Meetings, reserved for professionals, which will deal with topics such as An institutional dance and the Meeting of Museums of Europe and Latin America.
Beyond these, ARCOmadrid will also facilitate Meetings between Spanish museums and international institutions with the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), led by figures such as Elvira Dyangani Ose and Nuria Enguita.

For the first time, ARCOmadrid delays its edition and, instead of having the calendar in February, it will be held from March 6 to 10, 2024. Ifema will host this fair again, and will do so, specifically, in pavilions 7 and 9, dedicating the first three days exclusively for professionals, and from 3:00 p.m. on Friday the 8th it will open its doors to the public.
