The largest visual arts fair in Chile opens its doors
This August 24 and 25, at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center, contemporary art lovers will once again gather to enjoy the works of more than 300 national artists.
This new edition promises a memorable experience, with a large turnout. Jack Daniel's will surprise with a large collaborative mural and live art, inviting those present to actively participate in the creation of a unique and large work of art. And that's not all! Additionally, those present will be able to participate for a limited edition guitar, performed by a prominent national artist.
After 11 years since its creation, this August 24 and 25, at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM) in Santiago, the largest visual art fair in our country, Art Stgo, will open its doors again, in order to bring the thousands of works of national artists closer to citizens and completely free of charge.
On this occasion, Art Stgo 2024 will have the presence of 165 artists at the in-person event and 220 on its digital platform artstgo.cl, in total an exhibition that will present more than 3,000 works.
With the aim of creating a collaborative experience and bringing attendees closer to the world of creativity, Jack Daniel's will carry out a live intervention, where those present will be able to participate in the creation of a large urban mural with the visual artist Coto Chadid. Additionally, in line with Jack Daniel's historic relationship with music, Chadid will perform live guitars, allowing attendees to observe and learn about visual art in real time.
“Jack Daniel's believes in the power of art to connect with people. Therefore, we are happy to be part of this event, a space where creativity flows and experiences become unique. Because like a good whiskey, art is something that is enjoyed, shared and remembered forever,” said Marcela Carvallo, Area Manager of Jack Daniel's.
“Art Stgo is a meeting place that kindly invites all types of audiences. We want to take advantage of this democratic space to generate innovative and virtuous experiences that generate a positive impact and promote a better environment for all who attend and participate in it,” says Rodrigo Latorre, general director of Art Stgo and executive director of Kráneo.
Furthermore, he adds that “we are aware of the platform we have achieved and we want to enhance the legacy of our fair, generating instances with the community, exploiting the potential of Art as a transforming agent, educator and promoter of Sustainable Development.”
For her part, Nicole Andreu, curator of the event, adds “Art Stgo is a platform for generating networks between artists, collectors, gallery owners, and those interested in art in general. It is an opportunity to present new artists and proposals. What we seek is to generate connections and give visibility to artists who are starting or want to show their most recent projects. After 11 years we have been able to see how exhibitions are held, groups are created and new projects and sales are generated to important collections that are a contribution to contribute to the national visual arts scene. The important thing is to generate a meeting in a historical space and place such as the GAM. “Art Stgo is an art festival.”
Additionally, Jack Daniel's will have spaces for all those who want to enjoy art along with the portfolio made up of Old N7, its line of flavors and Gentleman Jack, the Jack family's Super Premium Tennessee Whiskey.
During the previous 10 years, Art Stgo has established itself as the most important open visual arts fair in our country, where hundreds of artists have participated, who have exhibited more than 20 thousand works.
