André Carneiro Cultural Center hosts the Exhibition “Vision of Three Americans: Our America”

This month, the André Carneiro Cultural Center will host the group exhibition “Vision of Three Americans: Our America”, by artists Angel San Martin, Madalena Dagostinho and Claudio Gonçalves. The opening will be on March 22, at 2:00 p.m., and the exhibition will run until April 26.
Interested parties can visit from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The André Carneiro Cultural Center is located at Rua José Lucas, n° 28, Centro.
Exhibition
With the theme “Latin America and the Caribbean”, the exhibition aims to address the Latin American spirit, valuing the culture and, above all, the national pride of the countries in this region. Through allegorical images, the artists aim to reach the public so that they can feel part of a great Latin American and Caribbean homeland.
Artist Biography
Angel San Martin was born in Copiapó, Chile, in 1938, and was a painter, sculptor, designer, woodcarver and teacher. He graduated as a teacher in fine arts and a degree in painting from the University of Chile and received the Gabriela Mistral Condecoración al Mérito Cultural y Artístico, in the degree of Caballero de la Orden, the highest distinction granted by the Chilean government in the field of culture. Awarded at renowned official exhibitions, he participated in individual and collective exhibitions in Chile, Brazil, Germany, Portugal and France. He settled in Brazil, where he also dedicated himself to teaching, while maintaining constant activity in his studio. She passed away in São Paulo in 2011.
A painter, designer, textile designer and illustrator, Maria Madalena Dagostinho was born in São Paulo and attended the Pan-American School of Art and the studio of Manoel Menacho. She held a solo exhibition at the Mario de Andrade Literature Museum; at the Infraero Cultural Space, Congonhas/SP, and participated in group shows and official salons. She was awarded the Bronze Medal at the São Paulo Salon of Fine Arts in 1984.
A designer, painter and teacher born in Ourinhos/SP, Claudio Gonçalves took drawing classes at the Leandro Frediani Studio in Amparo/SP. In 1968, he moved to São Paulo, where he attended the Pan-American School of Arts and took classes with Paulo Nesadal and engraving classes with Romildo Paiva at the Liceu de Artes e Ofícios de São Paulo. He also studied at the studio of Manoel M. Menacho. He held solo exhibitions in São Paulo and participated in official exhibitions and salons in several cities. He received awards in Marília/SP; Santo André/SP; Arceburgo/MG; and won the Paleta Internacional Brasil/Extremo Oriente Award.
