Lima celebrates Ecuadorian painter Olmedo Quimbita with an exhibition

The Peruvian capital, Lima, hosts a new exhibition by renowned Ecuadorian painter Olmedo Quimbita at the Limaq Gallery.

Known as “The Painter of Light,” Olmedo Quimbita presents his collection of 17 works, highlighting both recent and emblematic creations.

The exhibition, organized by the Culture Management of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima and the Embassy of Ecuador, summarizes almost four decades of the artist's work.

Quimbita, who was born in Latacunga in 1963, shows exceptional technical skill and a sense of color in his canvases.
The exhibition, which will be open to the public from May 10 to July 14, 2024, offers a unique vision of Ecuadorian and Latin American art.

Light, a characteristic element in Quimbita's works, illuminates his paintings, capturing the essence of nature and human figures.

Olmedo Quimbita, internationally recognized for his technique and style, portrays the beauty of the world around him with deep optimism.

The painter considers this exhibition to be an internal journey, both on a human and artistic level, that reflects his evolution over the years.
From his first strokes at age 7 to his 36-year artistic career, Quimbita has developed themes and evolved as an artist.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and will be open to the public at the Limaq Gallery, located on Av. 28 de Julio, Cercado de Lima.
