The MMAMM invites the talk “Campo y contracampo in the media arts of Argentina”, by the art historian, Alejandra Crescentino. It will take place on Wednesday, June 5, at 6:00 p.m., in the Plaza Independencia space. Admission is free.
In this conversation we will reflect on the critical and geopolitical potential of Argentine media art, questioning its marginal position in historical narratives about art. In addition, the expressions of media art will be investigated, which allows us to think about its relevance, linked not only to the creative legacy but also to the scientific and technological development of a region.
From historical experiences to contemporary works, a cartography will be proposed in order to discuss one of the multiple paths of Latin American art, while attempting to define and return to the critical-analytical contributions of local media arts.
