With a record of more than 515,000 visitors and managed to surpass the historical record since its foundation in 2001.
Over the course of this year, the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (Malba) attracted more than 515 thousand visitors, thus establishing a historical record since its creation on September 21, 2001.
Following a decline in visitor numbers due to the pandemic, last year marked the busiest period in the museum's history since its establishment.
Although an increase in participation was already observed in 2022, it was in 2023, thanks to a combination of programming and growing public interest, that the historical record was surpassed.
Families, students and citizens from all over Argentina, as well as a considerable number of foreigners (44% of the total, 55% of them from Brazil), visited the museum to explore the exhibitions and participate in the activities offered in its different areas.
This year has become the busiest since the museum was founded. Until last year, 2019 maintained first place with 506,000 visitors, followed by 2014 (410,000), 2013 (399,286) and 2010 (372,263).
The most popular exhibitions correspond to the years mentioned above: Leandro Erlich with "Liminal" (252,000 visitors from July to October 2019), Yayoi Kusama with "Infinite Obsession" (206,000 visitors from June to September 2013) and Andy Warhol with " Mr. America" (196,022 visitors from October to February 2010).
