USP campus in Bauru exhibits the exhibition “Fragmentos Atemporais”
The Cultural Center on the USP campus in Bauru exhibits the exhibition Fragmentos Atemporais, by artist Celso Silva from Bauru. The exhibition can be seen until September 6, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
The exhibition displays nine canvases in mixed techniques, digital art, interventions on fingerprints, chalk, dry pastel, crayon chalk, acrylic, airbrushing and collage.
This is the second time that Celso exhibits at USP. The first was in 2012. The name of the show marks his work trajectory, which he has been developing for 35 years. They are works from previous exhibitions, which he liked and kept in his private collection, and fragments of his trajectory, like “children” he likes to have around. Works he made for his friends are also on display.
“I hope that everyone can come and appreciate the work, that they leave suggestions and mark it on social networks. I consider it important to hear people's opinions about the work they liked the most and the impact it may have on their emotional and psychological perception. My intention is to pass on a little of my experience, of my history of the works on display and that were handpicked to represent different periods of my artistic trajectory”, emphasizes the artist.
Celso Silva started very early in the art world. At the age of 15, a drawing by him was taken by his teacher Maria José da Paz to Jornal da Cidade, in Bauru, and after it was published, the teacher got him a job in the Arts Department of that newspaper.
After that, Silva worked for advertising agencies until he set up his agency, at the age of 22, called Causa & Effect, in partnership with Milton Puga.
The artist developed works with the three-dimensional, scenography, decoration and publicity of clubs. The difference in the works was the artistic side, with sculptures and illustrations, among others.
“I've always been very experimental and I've always liked testing new techniques. During the period when I was supposed to go to college, I opened my company, and at that time I worked with well-known professors from Bauru, such as Milton Nakata, Olício Pelosi, Celso Horta and Laranjeira. But due to lack of time and the demands of the job, I couldn't go to college”, adds Celso Silva. Today Silva has the company Z2C de Cenografia e Comunicação, with partner Renato Zaiden Filho.
The exhibition Fragmentos Atemporais is on display until September 6, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, at the USP Cultural Center (Alameda Dr. Octávio Pinheiro Brisolla, 9-75, Cidade Universitária, in Bauru).
