Culture. May pilgrimages in Cuba: tribute to 30 years of the World Festival of Artistic Youth in Holguín
From May 2 to 8, the city of Holguín will once again become the capital of young Cuban art with the holding of the World Festival of Artistic Youth Romerías in May that will pay tribute to its 30 years.
Organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, the event proposes for this occasion concerts, exhibitions, dance, theater, conferences and theoretical panels, which cover all artistic manifestations and combine tradition and contemporaneity, said Yasel Toledo Garnache, National President of the AHS.
Its program of activities will also be dedicated to the 65th anniversaries of the Casa de las Américas and the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.
More than 16 simultaneous events will take place in different spaces of the eastern city to promote avant-garde art that defends identity and Cuban roots.
Artists, writers, promoters and intellectuals will promote cultural exchange, while artistic presentations are planned that each edition invites thousands of participants and audiences.
Since 1993, the World Festival of Artistic Youth Romerías de Mayo in Holguín promotes cultural plurality and brings together young creators who defend the most diverse artistic expressions of Cuba and the world.
