Introduction

The Sejong Webtoon Campus is hosting SICACO 2024 to promote Korean cartoon culture globally, discover new talent, and build international networks. We invite cartoon enthusiasts worldwide to participate!

Contest Overview

Event: 2024 Sejong International Cartoon Contest (SICACO)
Dates: July 1 - August 28, 2024 (submission period)
Exhibition: Winners' works will be displayed (date to be confirmed)
Theme: Hangul (Writing and Civilization)
Prizes: $5,500 total prize money (details below)

Eligibility and Submission

Anyone can enter (all ages, worldwide)
Up to 3 entries per person (individual or team)
Submission deadline: August 28, 2024, 6:00 PM Korean Standard Time (KST)
Submit online : webtoon.SJ@gmail.com or by mail (address provided)
Entries must be A3 size or smaller (300 dpi for digital submissions)

Competition Details

Selection process: written review by a panel of experts
Judging criteria: creativity, work quality, theme relevancy, and delivery (see details below)

Announcement: June 2024
Submission: July 1 - August 28, 2024
Results announcement: September 2024 (website and email)

Awards

Grand Prize: $1,500 + certificate
Gold Prize: $1,000 + certificate
2 Silver Prizes: $750 each + certificate
3 Bronze Prizes: $500 each + certificate
Honorable Mentions (number to be confirmed) + certificate

How to Submit Your Entry

There are two ways to submit your entry:

Online Submission:

Download the application form from the contest announcement page.
Fill out the application form completely.
Compress your cartoon artwork and the application form into a single folder.
Name the folder: "(Cartoon) Artist Name"

Inside the folder:
Include the application form named "Application_form_Artist_Name.doc" or "Application_form_Artist_Name.pdf"
Include a separate folder for your artwork named "(cartoon) Artist Name"
Each artwork file within the art folder should be a JPG image titled "Work Title.jpg"
Send your compressed folder as an email attachment.
Subject line: (SICACO) Cartoon_Artist Name
Email address: [email address removed] (mentioned earlier)
Submission by Mail (for original drawings only):

Download and print the application form.
Fill out the application form completely.
Mail your application form and original artwork to: #403, 4F, Sejong Technopark 95 Guncheong-ro, Sejong Special Self-Governing City
Important Deadlines

All submissions are due by August 28, 2024, 6:00 PM Korean Standard Time (KST).
For email submissions, the email must be sent by the deadline.
For mailed submissions, the artwork must be received by the deadline.
Late submissions will not be accepted.

Re-submissions

Only the first email submission will be considered.
If you submit multiple emails, only the first 3 attachments will be reviewed.
