34th Edition, 2024
The 34th edition of the International Cartoon Festival Umor la … Gura Humorului and Humor Literature will be held between 12 July – 14 July 2024.

Competition Regulations Cartoons

Theme of Edition 1: "Evolution"

2. Original works in digital format, created after January 1, 2024, that have not been published, submitted to other competitions or awarded, are accepted.

3. Each participant will submit two (2) cartoons for review by the jury.

4. The works will be delivered to the following addresses by 25 JUNE 2024 (publication date):

5. Technical requirements:
– Papers sent by e-mail: At least 1600 x 1200 pixels, in JPG format
– Papers sent by regular mail: Format A3/A4
– The technique to be used in the works will be at the free choice of the artist.

6. Works will not be returned. They will be added to Umor la's legacy…
Gura Humorului Festival and the organizers have the right to subsequently use these as edited materials with their authors' names on them.

7. Participants are requested to attach the following documents to their works:
Attached is the completed entry form, a short CV and a personal photo/caricature self-portrait.

8. Winners will be announced online until July 8, 2024 to attend the Award Festival on Sunday, July 14, 2024. If they cannot attend, their diplomas will be sent by post or cash. Rewards via bank transfer.

10. Transportation, accommodation and meal expenses are the responsibility of the participant or the organization/institution of which he/she is a member. Organizers will be informed in time to make the necessary reservations.

11. Prizes to be given to adult participants:
1st Prize: 500 Euros
2nd Prize: 300 Euros
3rd Prize: 200 Euros
“George Gavrilean” Award for Bucovina debutants – 200 Euros

12. Prizes to be given to participants under the age of 18:
1st Prize: 100 Euros
2nd Prize: 50 Euros
3rd Prize: 25 Euros

13. The jury is the person who decides whether to award the prizes or redistribute the prizes.
In addition, the jury will decide on the works or authors to be rewarded by the sponsors.
