Jakub Wiejacki was born in 1958 in Lodz, Poland. He currently lives and works in Justynow, Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in his hometown with a professional specialization as a textile pattern maker. After two years of working in the textile industry, Jakub Wiejacki focused entirely on drawing cartoons. His first cartoon was published in the renowned Polish satirical magazine “Karuzela”. From 1988 to 2010 he contributed to numerous newspapers and magazines in Poland and sometimes abroad. He currently works only for his own pleasure. In his creative work he prefers to paint with brushes, acrylic colors, posters and watercolors mixed with acrylic mediums and sometimes with an airbrush, but only for moisturizing paper. For the drawings he uses different pens, technical pens and brushes. Jakub Wiejacki presented his works in numerous solo and countless group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He participated in some cartoon competitions and his works have been awarded with numerous prestigious awards and honorable mentions of which we will mention at least some of them: First place — Satyrykon 1997 Legnica, Poland, First place — Humorest 2014 Hradec Kralove: Czech Republic, and others. He has been invited to be a member of Juries of international cartoon competitions and is a member of the Association of Polish Caricaturists.
