He was born on December 8, 1945 in Cetinje, Montenegro. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics and worked at the newspaper, then at “SDK Obod Processing Payment” and finally at the Central Bank. He is currently an independent artist with a special focus on painting, illustration and caricature. He also worked in many art colonies at home and abroad. He has published more than 4,500 works in various magazines in his country and around the world and illustrated approximately 80 books. In addition, he has published three of his own cartoon books and is the author of the first comic in Montenegro. Luka Lagator presented his works in 35 solo exhibitions and countless group exhibitions in many countries around the world and participated in several international competitions for his caricatures and drawings. He is the author of two short films: "Syzifova's Task" and "Syzifova's Effort" and a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Montenegro and the Association of Montenegrin Caricaturists since its foundation in 1996.
