Andre Pijet settled in Montreal, Quebec, in 1988. In his native Poland, his training in fine art and photography, along with his innate talent for drawing, soon led him to develop his career as an illustrator, caricaturist, cartoonist, and painter. He received his BA from Concordia University with a concentration in painting and drawing and a minor in Art History. In Quebec, he became known with a series of cartoons related to the 1993 and 1994 hockey playoffs, which he produced for a major Montreal newspaper. He is well known for his book illustrations and his work as a graphic artist and art director. As a freelance artist, he regularly works with major advertising agencies and publishers. At the same time, he continues to search for the right way to express his own perception of the contemporary world through painting and drawing. His works have appeared in major exhibitions and have won him numerous awards abroad, as well as his satirical and humorous works have been published in Belgium, Canada, France, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Poland, and the United States.
