Antonello Silverini was born on August 21, 1966 in Rome. He is an Italian illustrator. He is the first illustrator to be awarded the MAM – “Master of Art and Craft” award in 2016, he is one of the flagships of "Illustrators Reading", the cultural supplement of Corriere della Sera. He also collaborates with “Il Sole 24 Ore”, “La Repubblica”, “Panorama”, “L'Espresso” and “The Boston Globe”. He has designed the covers of Ian McEwan's novels for Einaudi and Philip K. Dick's for “Fanucci.” In addition to giving the image of the Rome International Film Festival in 2012. While still a student, he drew covers for the magazines “Lanciostory” and “Skorpio” for Eura Editions for more than a year in the early nineties. He has always been very fond of cinema, painting and narrative, he is gifted with an infallible memory for details, capturing in his illustrations all the layers of his passions. He continued, still very young, in illustration and advertising working with the main Italian and international agencies such as “Saatchi & Saatchi”, “Publicis”, “TBWA McCann-Erickson”, “Young & Rubicam”, “J. Walter Thompson”, “Bates, Dentsu”, “Gruppo Armando Testa”, “Ogilvy & Mather”, “Baldassarre Carpi Vitelli”, “Studio Ponzano Art & vertising” and “Proxima”. In 2002, his works were selected for the 25th annual American Showcase. The world of the Italian press saw his cartoons in 2005 with “Sole 24 ore” and “La Repubblica”, the most widely read Italian newspapers. That same year he won the Pictor Academy Award in Turin and in 2006 the Zavrel Award in Turin and in 2006 the Zavrel Award. In 2007, his works were selected for Lürzer's Archive Special 200 Best Illustrators worldwide. Since the refoundation of "La Lettura", the Sunday supplement of the Corriere della Sera, Silverini has become one of its main illustrators. In 2012 he signed the art for the Rome Film Festival and also collaborates in the entire festival campaign, with the production of an animated video. After illustrating the covers of Doris Lessing's novels, in 2013 Fanucci Editore also commissioned him to produce the covers of Philip Dick's novels for the celebration of his 25th birthday. At the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013, his poster for Ofelia, the short film by Annarita Zambrano, was in competition for the Palme d'Or. The Roman Gallery “Rosso20sette Arte Contemporáneo” hosts in 2014 the staff "Fuori dal quotidiano ". The catalogue, produced in two different editions, has a preface by Vincenzo Mollica and numerous speeches, including those by Gianni de Conno, Adriano Attus and Sergio Fanucci. The Italian book cover of Ian McEwan's novels is signed by Antonello Silverini. Ascanio Celestini chose Silverini's images for the poster of his film “Lunga vita alla sposa” presented in 2015 at the Venice International Film Festival. Enters in 2016 and joins "Le eccellenze creative del fumetto e dell'illustrazione di Roma e Lazio” (a compendium of the best regional cartoonists and illustrators).
