By LatAm ARTE

Marcos Beccari was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and currently works and resides in the city of Curitiba. At the age of 12, he learned to draw by selling caricatures, portraits on the street and at craft fairs in Sao Paulo. He specialized in the area of watercolor painting and began painting at the age of 18. After ten years of study, he began to sell his work professionally at the age of 27, when he held his first individual exhibition "Everyday Temperatures." In the same year, he was selected among the twenty best new artists by “Design Collector Network”. Through teaching experience, Beccari's art has evolved over time to become more synthetic and expressive. His current works can be described with a touch of narrative impressionistic realism. Although he still keeps figures as his main theme, and still with realistic language, he tells different stories and his watercolors become more thematic. Beccari's main reference artists are Anders Zorn, John S. Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Edward Hopper and Saul Leiter (photographer). In a constant quest to push new boundaries, he is persistent in painting daily from photographs, always translating lighting through new chromatic compositions.
