Bucharest artist Bogdan Petry published his first cartoons in 1990. He studied Fine Arts and later worked in animation for many years. He lived for a year in the United States. Upon his return, he began to collaborate with the creation of drawings and caricatures for Romanian publications such as the “Catavencu Academy”. Between 2002 and 2007 he drew four small-format comics in which he gave his satirical view of Romanian politicians and jet-setters. These books, published with more than 30,000 copies each, are the most widely circulated comics in Romania after the fall of communism in 1989. Petry also made monthly comics for "Maxim" magazine in 2006 and 2007.
