Kikelin is the nickname of Kike Paya (Alcoi, 1965) with which he signs his cartoons. For 20 years, portraiture and caricature have been his hobby, a way of having fun that followed him until new technologies and a deep personal crisis turned it into a profession and a means of research. He studied illustration at the Center for Artistic Arts and Crafts in Alcoy (Alicante) and editorial graphic design at the Institute of Continuing Education in Barcelona. He learned the art of caricature from master caricaturist Jason Seiler, and Flemish style oil painting from artist Thomas Fluharty. He has held several exhibitions including: Street art and mural paintings in homage to the poet Miguel Hernández in the event Murales de San Isidro in Orihuela (2012 - 2015), “Acto Comandante de Murales de San Isidro”, organized by the Department of Culture of Orihuela (2013 and 2014). His works have been published in the press and media such as “Information”, “Levante”, “El nostre”, “Mallorca zeitung” and “Fe y Amigos”. Since 2014, he has illustrated projects for the international company “Winning Moves: merchandising” for sports companies (players and coaches of Liverpool F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Chelsea F.C...) and cultural companies (English Heritage and Chester. He lives in Segorbe (Castellón).
