born in 1969 in Lisbon, Portugal - a small, beautiful European country with a rich history. My earliest, happiest memories are of playing soccer, marbles, trading cards, and most of all, reading European graphic novels, slowly discovering the exciting worlds of "Asterix & Obelix", "Tintin", "Blueberry", and classic American comics such as "Flash Gordon", "Tarzan", and "The Phantom". Inspired by the books, and even my favorite TV shows like "Star Trek" and "Space: 1999", I began to copy the images, and later, make up my own stuff. Even as I began to read paperback novels, I would draw sequences from the book on the borders of the page! I just always had this great need to visualize the written word.
