Tomás Serrano was born on August 20, 1960 in León, Spain. He graduated in architecture from the ETSA of Madrid (Madrid Higher Technical School of Architecture). Drawing was his passion since he could remember. He soon created his own characters and used them in many cartoons. His first influences were Disney animated shorts and Spanish comics authors from the 70s. Since the 80s, Tomás Serrano has published cartoons and caricatures of him in Spanish newspapers. In 1995 he obtained the renowned "Mingote Prize" as a cartoonist. This award opened doors for him and his cartoons were published in the influential magazine "Blanco & Negro". In 2011, Tomás Serrano was awarded in the gag category of the "World Press Cartoon" in Sintra, Portugal. In May 2014 he started drawing cartoons and editorial illustrations for the Spanish national newspaper "ABC". He wrote and illustrated two children's books: "Salfon the roof cleaner", published in 2001 by the prestigious "Editorial Lumen" of Barcelona, and also distributed in several South American countries, and "Lula en la Casa Lis" (published in 2010 by the Museum of Art Nouveau and Art Deco of Salamanca). Tomás loves classic movies and pop-rock music. He wrote and directed a few short videos and completed his first official animated music video for singer Sarabeth Tucek in 2013. He currently lives and works in Salamanca, Spain.
