Jarbas Domingos

Jarbas Domingos is from Pernambuco - Brazil and has been working as a professional cartoonist since 1998. Graduated in design from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), he publishes comics, caricatures, and illustrations in newspapers, magazines, websites, textbooks, and children's books. He is also the author of the “Barô Barata” strips, published in “Folha”, “Diario de Pernambuco” and the “Recreio” magazine of Editora Abril. He also worked in the arts section of the newspapers “Folha” de Pernambuco and Diario de Pernambuco, where he worked as a cartoonist, infographics artist and art and layout assistant editor. In December 2010, with the support of Funcultura, he released his first book “Barô Barata”. It is a collection of strips published over several years with the adventures of the grumpiest Baratão in comics. Together with Tatiana Sotero, he is the author of the book "Pipo o Troca-Chupetas" published by Cepe and Casa do Lobo, which helped several parents wean their little ones without causing trauma. Some of his drawings, comics and graphic design works have received national and international awards. In 2010 and 2013 he was awarded in one of the most important exhibitions in the field of international graphic humor, the “World Press Cartoon # de Portugal.
